This is one of the rare kind of a picture observed in nature; Blooming of 'kadupul' captured. Kadupul flower within a short time period shows the birth, growth and the death of a life. It is one of the most enchanting occasions showing the changing nature of life. There was a nicely written story about how 'Kadupul' bloom was captured by Mr. Sunil Atugoda on Sunday Observer.

This is indeed a wonderful event. Blooming happens in the night and it fades away by dawn. This flower was one of the best choices of kandyan craftman,you will find wood carvings of Kadupul in Ammbakke Devalaya and in Lankathilaka Viharaya. In recent times President Rajapakse was lucky enough to offer a Kadupul flower to the Bodiya which is there in Temple Trees. Finaly author of the article is known to me as he is a father of one of my friends:).
Thanks daham for nice thoughts about 'kadupul'. I have never been to Ammbakke Devalaya and Lankathilaka Viharaya and i guess there are many things that i have never seen in this country.
I guess you could take advantage of hearing comprehensive story about how he has captured the flower :)

Capturing flowers require lots of detailed attention for it to become artistic. No matter what the story behind it the picture makes the proper sence
